外语老师周宁燕的工作手记(2008/4/8添加中)

March 28th       the 1 st week

Jack, is the boy once I mentioned in my last passage.

This time he is the one attracted most of my attention this week, because he is different than those previous days. He seems like has little interest. I keep on reminding him to hold his attention but without any success.

I think there must be something wrong with this young boy. I could not tell how much I like him because of his excellent performance in my class. He has smart and quick minded brain,with active thoughts. When I think about this, there is a strong voice came out from my heart, please help this little boy.

I come to him after class and hold his hands asking for reasons. He tells me that he misses his grandmother terribly because her birthday is coming soon. After I said we could let him call his grandmother on her birthday, he is smiling again. His smile tells me that he is back from his depression.

Ella is another lovely girl in my class. Though she has her own trouble and difficult in English study, she changes gradually recent days. Before, she refused to speak any single word in English, not mentioned in sentence. Nowadays she began to follow my step and can say a sentence without problem. Others say she has little problem with her personality, because she is easy to get angry. I noticed this phenomenon in my class. But she never went further or too far away about anything. So, to me, she is ok to be a student.

And we have another girl about same age with Ella. I like her too. She is active in my class with sharp thoughts. When others are silent or in trouble with my question, she could find out ang give me response promptly. But she has her own headach too. Once she mentioned she worried so much about her study which she missed to do for nearly halfa year. She also said she would like to go on study well or not. I suthened her many times saying she has no problem with study because she is really a smart girl. And what’s more she is highly talented in writhing. she received many rewards for her outstanding performance in writing exams. I decided to encourage her everyday by single words and I do wish she could pick up confidence as soon as possible.

The left boys are really nice to me too. They call me miss Zhou on the way with their friendly smile, from which I’m so pleased for the left time of the day. And they do very well in my class too can do a good job in their study.

 

    2008年3月28日

Jack,是我上篇文章提到的那个不到10岁的小男生,他吸引了我大部分时候的注意。不知道他是怎么了,最近上课老开小差,不听课,联想到他以前积极答问,认真上课的样子和现在的他比简直是判若两人,他一定是心里有什么事才弄得他这么反常的。

下课后我直接走向他,握着他厚实的小手轻声问道:“你怎么了?是不是遇到什么麻烦了?”“我想奶奶了,不久就是她的生日,我特想她,她对我很好的…”他细声答道。原来是这样,我暗自轻了口气,安慰他道,“她生日那天如果你接下来认真上课,专心训练也许可以打电话给她呢…”他听着我的话,眼睛流露着喜悦,兴奋的亮光,一下之间他又甜甜地笑了。望着他轻快离去的身影,我知道原来反应敏捷,积极认真的Jack又回来了。

Ella最近的变化也是让我高兴不已,之前的她对英语极度反感,也许对自己缺乏信心吧,最后真索性懒得开口了,我很同情也很理解她的感受,既听不懂又说不出,而长达1个小时的课程她要如何度过,但最近她的表现突然好了很多,不但认认真真地跟着我读新单词,她甚至还会说一些简单的句子了,这真是个了不起的突破呀,真替她高兴。其实她是个很不错的女孩子,只是性格稍稍暴躁了点,这也没什么大不了的,打看她第一眼起我就喜欢和她交流了,她对我似乎也格外随和、亲近。一个多月下来她还不曾对我说过一句重话,而她对日语学习的热情和干劲更深深地感化了我,也许是因为初开日语课程的缘故吧,大家的起点都一样,都是从零开始,每次默写假名,背诵单词短语她从来没让我失望过,好多次她还得了满分,她的突出表现也影响着其他同学,他们也都不甘落后,从她身上我看到了当年自己学习日语的影子,和她一样兴趣十足,信心百倍,但她也有自己的烦恼,尤其是担心爸妈的不和,甚至是离婚,我也好希望她的家人团结和睦,这样我的Ella同学就可以快乐无忧地过每一天了,愿上帝祝福这位可爱自强的女孩以及她珍爱的父母。

Dolphin是我的第二个女学生,有着同样可爱单纯的笑脸,一样地聪明活泼,我也很看好她,她的确表现得很好,反应灵敏,思维活跃独特,且上课积极认真,她也总能在最关键候给我回馈信息。要做到这一点还真不容易,毕竟有时我的问题还是有难度的。我很自信地说,她如果也可以收敛一点点自己的情绪,凭借她在语言上独有的天赋,不久以后的她将很有作为的。小小年纪就拿下这么多作文竞赛奖状不是每个人都能做到的,以后我也会有意识地引导她,争取让她少走点弯路。

剩下的男孩们也都很好,很热情,也很上进,偶尔路上相见一声真挚但甜美的“周老师好”让我愉快以至这几天就寝时间真的有种吃蜜糖的感觉留在心底,我好想把自己所有的有关英语的知识通通地告诉他们,这样他们回到学校再次学习时就不再吃力了,我会朝这个方向努力的,我深信我的每一个学生都会有新的进展,新的突破的,不管在学习、生活亦是个人的性情脾气方面。真心地祝愿他们。

 

April  5th    The 2nd week

Chang is staring at something when I pass by the corner of the playground. He notices me and stops my steps by saying hi to me. I would like to ask for 20 minutes of your English class time so that I would take it to give my trial class. Would you please do me a favor? I’m surprised by hearing this, not only because this is first time approach to me, but also because of what he tells to me. “I cannot tell how much I’m pleased to hear you say so. No problem, it’s my great pleasure to atlend your 20 minutes class. Please prepare for it.” I answered with a smile on my face. He seldom talks in my class unless I ask for him. But obviously he is the most knowledgable one as he received the most education compared with other students. He knows the answers to most of my question, though hardly he expresses them. I guess his trial class would be the great change moment for him because he will understand so well that how important the interaction is to a class. And I cannot even wait for any longer minute for that time.

Just as I predicted, change is more cooperative since he gave his 20-min long trail class. He never pretended to be a deaf in my class, nor took a nap. I’m so glad to see this. Every student has their own unpopular habits in class. But, just as change’s case, I have confidence to them because they will get out of all those bad behaviours one day. All they need is time. May is a new student who joined us this week. In my eyes she is another active and lovely girl. I can tell from my first day saw here in class that she is very smart too. She is the newest one here but she can memorise the most of the basic letters of Japanese. I was so surprised and pleased to discover this. Others will follow her steps in study too. And then there is no need for me to push them to learn or to revise.

This week is a harvest week to me, as I can see my student’s progress in English and Japanese learning. This is the most valuable reward to my work. I wish my students happy everyday.

 

2008年4月5日

Chang在操场转角处拔草正凝视着什么,见我走来起身和我问好并问道“周老师,我可以借用你英语课的20分钟自己试试吗?我也想当老师…”听了这话我不由得又惊又喜,惊的是他有如此大胆而美好的想法,喜的是这是他入校一星期来首次主动接近我。以往在课堂上,他从不主动发言,除非我点名让他答问,也只是勉强简短的说几个字。

他无疑是我班上实力最强的一个,因为他读书时间最长,且他确实学了很多东西,我也知道他了解我大部分提问的答案,只是沉默不语罢了,坦白地说他的这种不合作方式着实难倒了我,弄得我很紧张,在不是很熟悉的情况下我还真不好贸然询问他这样做的原因,但现在所有的障碍都已消除,“当然可以了,我很高兴你愿意试试,那么你准备一下明天的英语课上前20分钟…”我轻声回答他,他抬头看见我正冲他笑的脸立刻他也笑了,我首次发现原来他的笑容也是如此地阳光,这和平常满脸愁容的他还真是大不一样。正当我发愁如何引导他参与课堂时,他的一个愿望给了我答案,当他站在讲台上讲课时他会体会到师生互动的重要性的,我这样想着。果然不出我所料,之后他就配合了很多,再也没有装聋作哑了,他不少的发言还赢来了同学赞许的目光,他的心里应该也和我一样的喜悦吧。

May是新来的一位女生,她也很引人注目,不仅仅是她那白皙的皮肤和漂亮的脸蛋,还有她惊人的记忆。一节日语课下来,之前从无接触过日语的她竟然认识所有的日语假名,且记住了它们的发音,太了不起了,别人学了一个多月还发音有问题呢。我由衷地感激她的到来,别的同学也一定会朝着她学习的,有她在班上起着模范带头作用我就不用天天提醒同学们记得背日语假名了,只要形成一股你追我赶的良好学习风气,我还愁我的学生学不好吗?

这一周真是我收获的一周啊!愿我的学生天天快乐,学习进步!
